Learn why dental marketing strategies have not worked in the past

If you haven't had much success with your dental advertising or marketing endeavours in New Zealand, it's crucial to examine the common reasons why they failed to meet your expectations:

  1. Your headlines and copy did not speak to the heart of the dental consumer's wants.

  2. Imagery emphasised dental anxiety and fears. 

  3. The advertising channels did not use and leverage dental consumer research, which gives you clear insights into the hearts and minds of the incredibly sensitive dental consumer, and their habits and actions.

  4. If a well-designed campaign did not last at least one year with a minimum of 6 months, you probably did not realise its effectiveness. Statistically, 52% of our market visits the dentist every six months. 48% are a year or more. A common mistake in advertising is that businesses give up too early as they expect an immediate result.  

  5. Messages may not have been engineered to the majority of your target market, which is A 35-year-old plus female consumer who makes the majority of the household health decision for the family.

  6. Promoted the wrong incentive or message, such as exams, xrays, or NEW patient specials. This statement may surprise you!

  7. Inadvertent, bait and switch tactics were used.

  8. Most importantly, the advertised brand promises must be fully implemented in practice. This is the most critical reason your dental advertising did not work. NOTE: You could 10 X your advertising spend and see minimal to no growth if there are unfulfilled expectations.
